Privacy Policy

1. The short version

LikeOptions is a browser-first library of financial calculators and explanations. You can use the public tools without an account. We do not sell personal information, and we do not ask you to enter brokerage credentials, account numbers or payment-card details into a calculator.

2. What we collect

Public tools

Calculator inputs and results are processed in your browser and are not sent to LikeOptions by the calculator pages.

Two things we do record on our own servers, and nothing else:

• Abuse prevention. Our public calculation API is rate limited. To count requests without storing who made them, your IP address is combined with a secret value and the current hour, then hashed. We store only that hash and a counter. The hash changes every hour, cannot be reversed, and is never linked to anything else.
• Affiliate clicks. See section 9 below.

Neither record contains anything you typed into a calculator.

When you contact us or use an account

• Email address (for login)
• First and last name (optional)
• Subscription status (free/premium)
• Payment-service customer reference (billing only)
• Messages or other information you choose to send us

3. What we do not ask for

• Trading activity or portfolio data
• Brokerage credentials, account numbers or payment-card numbers
• Precise location, financial-account access or sensitive personal data
• Calculator inputs through the public calculator interface

4. Why we use information

If you create an account, we use your data only for:

• Creating and maintaining your account
• Processing subscription payments through a payment service
• Sending transactional emails (confirmations, receipts)
• Complying with legal obligations
• Keeping the service secure and preventing misuse
• Understanding site performance only when you choose Analytics cookies

Depending on the context, our legal bases are providing a requested service, our legitimate interest in security and service improvement, consent where required for analytics, and compliance with law.

5. When information is shared

We share limited information with service providers that help us operate the site, such as account, payment, email, hosting, security and optional analytics services. They may process information only as needed for their service to us, under their own terms and applicable safeguards. We do not sell personal information or share calculator inputs for advertising.

Where a provider processes information outside your country, we use the transfer measures required by applicable law. You can contact us for more information about the safeguards relevant to your request.

6. Your choices and rights

You can request to:

• Access all data we hold about you
• Delete your account and associated data
• Export your data in machine-readable format
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Object to or restrict certain processing, where the law gives you that right
• Withdraw consent for optional cookies at any time

7. Data Security

• All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS
• Payment-card details are processed by the payment service only
• Account and billing records are kept only as long as needed for the service and for legal, tax, accounting and dispute-resolution requirements
• Rate-limit records are deleted automatically once their hour has passed. A scheduled job runs daily and removes every record outside the current window
• Affiliate-click records are deleted automatically after 90 days by the same daily job

These deletions are automatic and unconditional. They are not a policy we apply on request.

8. Cookies

Necessary storage keeps the site working. Google’s consent management platform presents applicable privacy choices for analytics. Advertising and ad monetization are disabled. See our Cookie Policy and use the Google privacy and cookie controls shown where applicable to manage your choice.

9. Affiliate Links

We may earn commissions when you click affiliate links to brokers or services. These are clearly labeled. Affiliate relationships do not influence our recommendations. See our full Affiliate Disclosure.

When you click one, we record which partner and which page the click came from, so a commission can be matched to it. Specifically: the partner identifier, the page context, the strategy name where one applies, the referring URL and your browser's user-agent string. We do not store your IP address against a click, we do not set an advertising identifier, and we do not combine these records with anything else. They are deleted after 90 days.

10. Children and contact

LikeOptions is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
